Anheuser-Busch and The Lewis Bear Company Providing Emergency Drinking Water to Munson Volunteer Fire and Rescue District In Support of Disaster Relief Efforts
Anheuser-Busch and The Lewis Bear Company provided more than 4 pallets with 392 cases of emergency drinking water to the Munson Volunteer Fire and Rescue District (VFRD) in Florida. This donation supports local relief efforts as they prepare for upcoming disaster and wildfire relief efforts.
The water is sourced from Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Cartersville, Georgia and Fort Collins, Colorado. These breweries periodically pause beer production to can drinking water, to be doanted to communities in times of disaster.
“Providing water to local fire departments is one way we can provide welcome relief when communities are in need,” said Chad Bonner, Vice President, The Lewis Bear Company. “Our delivery drivers take pride in bringing pallets of water supplied by Anheuser-Busch to local fire and rescue volunteers like Munson VFRD. We want to help those on the front lines, who fight fires and are first to help with hurricane or disaster relief.”
Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing emergency drinking water and supplies for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross – dating back to 1906. Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch and their wholesaler partners have provided nearly 83 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises nationwide.
Through their partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), the national association serving volunteer fire departments, Anheuser-Busch expanded their emergency drinking water program in 2019 to provide critical hydration to the volunteer firefighters who are protecting their communities when they need it most. To date, the program has donated over 1.6 million cans of water to volunteer fire departments across the county to help firefighters stay hydrated and healthy when responding to wildfires and large incidents.
